Welcome back, Betty!

I feel like throwing myself a party right now. I have finally entered back into the blogging world. I am so excited! A lot has changed since I had my last blog, so I decided to start completely over.

A little bit about me:

• My name isn't Betty Crocker. (I hope that you knew this already!) My first name isn't even Betty. This is a nickname from some close friends that always say that I'm like BC with the way that I'm always cooking and making people feel welcome into my home. I receive it!
• Christian isn't a name--it's my way of life. I live for Jesus and I am completely unashamed of it! In the last 10 months (since I rededicated my life to Him), He has changed me so completely that I'm not even sure that who I used to be is the same person. It's amazing how He works so quickly in our lives!
• I live in a suburb of Houston, Texas. I am a 6th grade ELA (reading, writing, English, etc.) teacher at an inner-city school. I love my students and the challenges that I face on a day-to-day basis. I constantly see the difference that Jesus is making in using me as a light in a very dark place.

This blog is going to be a hodge-podge of all the things that I love. Sometimes I will talk about Jesus and the amazing things that He is doing in my life. Other times, I will post recipes and give cooking/baking lessons. I might post up some pictures of a craft that I did every once in a while. I love sports, so you might have a few posts about my favorite teams. Of course, there will be multiple posts about my hilarious daily life with my students.
